a man of courage  is also  man of faith . hw is this  borne  out by  douglas  of his  conquest ......?????

All his childhood, Douglas had feared water. His experience of being completely covered by water when he went to the beach with his father, and actually drowning when a bully threw him into the pool, contributed to a mortal dread. However, in Douglas' mind was also the determination to conquer that fear. He hired and instructor and started training. In a piecemeal manner, he trained in each little element of swimming. Finally, when he successfully swam across Warm Lake and back, he knew that he had overcome his fear of water for good. In the end, his courage was nothing more than faith in himself. He knew that what he was doing was danger, but he believed that he had the strength, both physical and mental, to overcome that danger.
