Compare the isotopes of magnesium atomon the basis of composition of their nuclei

Dear student
Please find below the solution to the asked query:

Isotopes are forms of an element that have the same number of protons but differ in the number of neutrons present in the atom of the element.
Magnesium has 3 stable isotopes, 24Mg, 25Mg and 26Mg,
The nuclei of an atom consists of  protons + neutrons
These isotopes contain 12, 13 ,and 14 neutrons respectively.
However the number of protons is same for all three of them , which is equal to 12.

Hope this information will clear your doubts regarding the topic. If you have any other doubts please ask here on the forum and our experts will try to solve them as soon as possible.
