John Locke - In his book, Two Treatises of Government, he sought to refute the doctrine of the Devine and absolute right of the monarch.
Rousseau - He proposed a form of government based on a social contract between the common people and their representatives.
Montesquieu - In his Spirit of the Laws, he proposed a division of power in the government between the legislature, executive and the judiciary.

Rousseau, John Locke and Montesquieu were philosophers during the French Revolution. Their beliefs are as follows-
Rousseau: He proposed a form of government based on a social contract between the masses and their representatives.
John Locke: In his Two Treaties of the Government,  he sought to refute the doctrine of the divine and absolute right of the monarch.
Monstesquieu: In The Spirit of the Law, he proposed a division of power within the government between the legislative. executive and judiciary.
