The authorities announced that the JEE Main ranks for 2015 will be delayed by over a week, due to non-availability of JEE (Main) ranks for Paper 1 and Paper II. The board was supposed to announce the ranks on the 24th of June, but there has been a delay and a new set of dates have been announced for the same, which are from the 29th of June to 3rd July.
The delay has been due to the fact that CBSE has yet to collect Board marks. The JEE ranks are calculated by giving 60% weightage to JEE (Main) scores and 40% weightage to class XII scores. Without the individual Board results, the JEE ranks cannot be calculated properly. The results for Odisha Council of Higher Secondary Education, Mizoram Board of School Education, Tripura Board of Secondary Education, and some schools of Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are still to be declared.
The registration for the joint seat allocation process was scheduled to start from Thursday. Students would be part of the process for nearly 34,000 seats in 85 government-funded technical institutes.
The online counselling schedule for admission to IITs, NITs and CFTIs have affected the academic session in a big way. With the delay in the declaration of the results, the institutes are likely to shorten orientation period to make up for the time loss. Students would now have to report on July 21, 2015. The following are the dates for the events to follow:
> Students will be informed of the first round of seat allocation on July 5
> The second round of seat allocation would be declared on July 11
> For this result, between July 12 and 15, students would have to submit their acceptance
> Result of third seat allocation would be declared on Jul 16
> For this, students would have to submit their acceptance between July 17 and 20
