Matrices
- Construction of a matrix, when a general formula/rule is given
- Addition (subtraction) of two matrices and scalar multiplication of a matrix
- Product of two matrices
- Problems related to matrix equation
- Problems based on singularity of matrix
- Transpose of a matrix
- Expressing square matrix as the sum of a symmetric and a skew symmetric matrix
- Inverse of a matrix using elementary row/column operations [For 2 2 matrix, 4 marks; for 3 3 matrix, 6 marks may come]
Determinants
- Finding the value of determinant
- Area of triangle using determinant
- Properties of determinants to prove a given relation [6 marks or 4 marks is compulsory for this topic]
- Finding minors and cofactors
- Finding adjoint of a matrix
- Finding determinant of adjoint A, when we are given |A|, for a matrix A
- Finding inverse of the matrix using the formula X = A–1 B, A-1 = Adj A/ |A|
- Solving the system of equations, using matrix method [6 marks or 4 marks is compulsory for this topic]
- Determining system of equations as consistent/inconsistent.
