Unitary government                                                                                                                             Federal government.
1.The whole authority of the power is centre.                                                                1.Some power is shared between the centre and the units like states.
2.If power ever shared the centre can take back power from the units.                         2.Power can't be taken back from the states.
3.There is a single government that is at the centre.                                                      3.there is a double government that is at the centre and in the states.

FeDERAL GOVERNMENT:-
1. Two or more levels of government.
2. Different levels governs same people but have  different or separate jurisdiction.
3. There is division of subjects b/w state and centre.
4. There is double administration--at central and at state level.
5.There is Double constitution .
6. EXAMPLE IS India--- largest democracy--federal country.

Unitary GOVERNMENT:-
1. One level  government.
2. Only central level governs state government to pass laws but have  no separate jurisdiction as not have separate govt.
3. There is division of subjects only with centre.
4. There is single administration--at central level.
5. There is singleconstitution .
6. EXAMPLE IS  Srilanka.
