what is dimagnetic and paramagnetic?

Diamagnetic substance may be defined as a substance with zero magnetic property. Such substance when placed in external magnetic field, get repelled. It was due to absence of unpaired electrons.

Paramagnetic substance may be defined as substance with non-zero magnetic property. Such substance when placed in external magnetic field, attract the external magnetic lines. It was due to presence of unpaired electrons.
