The correct answer is that the reading will decrease because as the
g effective increases then in equation P=HDG as G increases then H
should decrease to keep the overall external pressure constant
In equation p is external pressure which should be same in both
cases whether lift is moving or at rest etc
Reason why g effective increases as the elevator is moving up
increasing speed that means with some acceleration so if we go into
the elevator frame then then acceleration with which the elevator
is moving gets reversed and summed up with gravity which is present
from before so the g effective increases
