A square and a rectangle have the same perimeter, measuring 32 m , but different areas. What are their possible dimensions ????
Dear Student,
Please find below the solution to the asked query:
Given : A square and a rectangle have the same perimeter , measuring 32 m
We know perimeter of square = 4 ( Side ) , So
4 ( Side ) = 32
Side of given square = 8 m
And
We know area of square = ( Side )2
So,
Area of given square = 82 = 64
And
We know perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( Length + Breadth ) , So
2 ( Length + Breadth ) = 32
Length + Breadth = 16
So,
Possible dimension for rectangle : ( 1 , 15 ) , ( 2 , 14 ) , ( 3 ,13 ) ( 4 , 12 ) , ( 5 , 11 ) , ( 6 , 10 ) , ( 7 , 9 )
