briefly  explain the structure of pollen grains

Dear student.

Pollen grains represent the male gamete. They are spherical and have two-layered wall. Flowers containing stamen consists of an anther and a filament. The anther contains four pollen sacs which produce pollen grains. Pollen grains are pollinated by various agents, once a pollen grain has landed on the stigma of a compatible species it will germinate. A pollen tube emerges from one of the pores in the wall of the pollen grains, and grows rapidly down the style to the ovary.
