Bromine solution in carbontetrachloride is added drop wise to an alkane

Bromine in CCl₄ reacts with alkenes and alkynes only.
Bromine reacts with alkanes only in presence of sunlight to perform substitution of hydrogen with bromine.
So, there is no reaction when bromine solution in carbon tetrachloride is added drop wise to an alkane.
