a. When a day is observed with celebration, functions etc in remembrance or memory of somebody or something then it is known as Commemoration Day.
b. This day is significant because it recognises and honours the sacrifices and dedication of Emirati martyrs who has given their lives in UAE or abroad serving for civil, military or humanitarian fields.
c. This Commemoration Day will be celebrated on 30 November, every year. This date is chosen wisely by the political leaders because on this day in 1971, the first martyr Salem Suhail Bin Khamis sacrificed his life in the battle on the Greater Tunb island when the Iranian invasion took place.
d. Wahat Al Karama is a place to pay homage who sacrificed their lives for a greater cause or humanity. It is amemorial to keep those martyrs alive. It literally means " oasis of dignity".
