Food chain and Food web are the aspects of our Ecosystem.
In layman language, food chain is the chain where the flow of energy from one level to another (in order) takes place. The means of the flow of energy are both biotic and abiotic. One interesting feature of the food chain is a loss of energy while transfer at every subsequent level.  Each step or level of the food chain forms a trophic level. The organisms involved are called consumers. The length and complexity of food chains vary greatly. 

A food web consists of various food chains, interconnected to each other at various levels.
