Define "melting of target DNA " with example

Solution:

The melting of target DNA is also called denaturation. It refers to the unwinding or breaking of the two strands of DNA into single strands. Melting of DNA involves heating of the target DNA i.e. DNA containing the sequence to be amplified at a high temperature (around 94°C for 15 seconds). This process causes the hydrogen bond between the complementary strands to break, as a result of which the strands separate from each other.
