Describe with help of three labelled diagrams different embryonic stages that include mature embryo of dicot plants

Dear Student,

Please find below the solution of your asked query:
  1.  In dicot plants, elongation of zygote takes place and divides into 2 parts i.e. upper and lower part.
  2.  The lower part lies towards micropyle which further divides into a row of cells which is known as suspensor.
  3.  The upper part of the cell divides towards the antipodal end and is known as embryo cell.
  4.  The first cell of the suspensor further enlarges and acts as, haustorium i.e. the absorbing organ while its terminal cell called hypophysis cell divides giving rise to the apex of the radicle.
  5. The upper cell or embryo cell enlarges and divides repeatedly to form eight cells that are arranged in two tiers – epibasal and hypobasal. A typical dicot embryo consists of an embryonal axis and two cotyledons.
  6. The portion that is present above the embryonal axis and above the level of cotyledons is called epicotyl. It contains the shoot tip and is known as Plumule. The portion that is present below the axis is known as hypocotyl. It contains the root tip which is known as Radicle. The root tip is covered by the root cap.
  7.  Subsequent divisions give rise to globular heart-shaped embryo.
