Explain all the details about Lymph

Solution:

Lymph is a fluid connective tissue that helps in the process of transportation. It is found in lymph nodes.
  • Lymph nodes are located deep inside the body, such as around the lungs and heart, or closer to the surface, such as under the arm or groin. The lymph nodes are found from the head to around the knee area.
  • Some pores are present in the walls of the capillaries and through these pores, small amounts of plasma, proteins, and blood cells flow out in intercellular spaces in the tissues. This forms the tissue fluid or lymph

  • It is a colourless fluid that contains less protein. The lymph enters into tiny vessels situated in intercellular spaces. These capillaries join to form the lymph vessels.
  • It acts as a reservoir of water, salts, and digested food.
  • It carries digested food and fats from the small intestine. Lymphatic vessels present in the intestinal villi absorb fatty acids.
  • It contains phagocytes that can engulf and destroy bacteria and other foreign particles.
