give the formula of chlorides of the elements A and B having an atomic number of 6 and 11 respectively.will the properties of two chlorides be similar or different?explain.pls explain with diagram

Dear Student,
(A) is a Carbon (C) element with atomic number 6
hence the electronic configuration we get is = 2,4
hence the valency is 4
So, The formula formed with Chloride is CCl4 ( Carbon tetrachloride) and structure is given below:-

(B) is a Sodium (Na) element with atomic number 11
hence the electronic configuration we get is = 2,8,1
hence the valency is 1
So, The formula formed with Chloride is NaCl( Sodium Chloride) and structure is given below:-

Properties of Carbon tetrachloride (CCl4):-1. Carbon tetrachloride is immiscible with water as water is protic while CCl4 is aprotic in nature.
2. Carbon tetrachloride is a covalent molecule and covalent molecules are not good conductors of electricity.
Properties of  Sodium Chloride (NaCl):- 1.  Sodium chloride also is known as common salt which is soluble in water and  is used as raw material for making a large number of useful chemicals in the industry such as sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate, etc.
2.  It is used in the manufacture of soap.
Hence on above properties both CCl4  (A) and NaCl (B) are different.
