The given linear equation is y = 5x + 8

y = 5x + 8

When x = –1, y = 5 × (–1) + 8 = – 5 + 8 = 3

When x = 0, y = 5 × 0 + 8 = 0 + 8 = 8

When x = –2, y = 5 × (–2) + 8 = –10 + 8 = –2
