how alloying can improve a properties of matel?

An alloy is made from mixing different metals. There is one base metal, its property is improved by mixing small amount of other metal in it.The pure metal is usually too soft to be useful. The other metals replace the position of the parent metal in the metal structure,or sometimes fit into the spaces in the metal structure as shown below.

Metal Alloy Structure

Here the yellow colour and blue colour is other metals mixed with the base metal red. It prevents the sliding of metal atoms over each other. In this way mixing of metals give toughness to the alloy.

Similarly other properties can be improved. Like Iron is a soft and corrosive metal.By adding chromium it is made to resistant towards corrosion. Softness is improved by adding carbon .Stainless steel is an alloy of iron (80%), chromium (15%), nickel (4%) and carbon (0•5 to 1%). Stainless steel is strong and hard, with a very high resistance to corrosion. It is used for cookware, cutlery and industrial chemical plant.

when we alloy metal we mix the properties of different metals and can get whatever property that we want. we use that fr different uses and as a metal alone we cant use it for all works. for example we can increase the efficiency of anyn object by alloying

when we mix two or more metal in there molten state to form an alloy then the resultant alloy has gained the property of its constituents. The force of attraction increases and the boiling and melting point increases a lot, this improves the property or retention of alloy.
