how can the ear detect the sound and how can we become def

Dear student,
Please find below the solution to the asked query

When an object produces sound, it gets collected by pinna and passed to the eartube. The sound then strikes the eardrum that vibrates with the same frequency. This then makes the delicate interlocked bones (small bones) to vibrate. The vibrations are converted into signals and then is sent to the auditory nerves. This signals reach the brain which is how we hear the sound.

Deafness can be due to:
1. Damage to eardrum
2. Exposure to high frequency sounds for long periods.
