How can you say that each organ acts as a check on the other organ and hence ensures the balance between two?

There are three organs in the government; the legislature, the executive and the judiciary. The legislature acts as a check on the executive because ministers are answerable to the legislature for its actions. It acts as a check on the judiciary because it has the power to impeach judges.

The executive does not act as a check on the other two organs. In fact, the whole notion of checks and balances is to control the acts of the executive by the other two organs. That is because it is the executive which has the most potential to abuse government power.

The judiciary acts on a check on the legislature because it can make laws invalid if those laws violate the constitution. It acts as a check on the executive because citizens can appeal before the judiciary if the executive violates laws.
