How do we get the length of human dna as 1.8m? When i calculate it I get 1.02m...is there any thing I'm missing

Dear student
Please find below the solution to the asked query

The length of DNA in human cell is about 2.2m. It can be calculated as:
  • Distance between two consecutive base pairs in a DNA = 0.34 nm = 0.34 × 10−9 m

  • Total number of base pairs in a human DNA = 6.6 × 109 bp

  • Total length of human DNA = 0.34 × 10−9 × 6.6 × 109    = ~ 2.2 m

Hope this information will clear your doubts about the topic.
