in flame test of alkaline earth metals beryllium and magnesium do not show any colour why? then how can we differentiate among them?

1. The color of the flame is dependent on the energy that is emitted by the valence electron when it return to its original place.

2. Energy emitted does not lie in the visible region so it does not display any color.

3. It lies in the UV region which is not visible to eyes.
