Is diamond transparent?

Diamonds are transparent, it is just measurement of how light passes through it.
Diamonds can transmit a high proportion of the light (large amount of light gets through them). Diamonds can transmit visible light rays, ultraviolet rays, and even the X-rays. This transparent property of diamond has led to many applications of diamond in optics field. Among the species of gems, it is often the most transparent gems are the most valuable (like diamonds).
