is it true that atomic mass is double the atomic number..because the atomic num. of helium is 2 & it mass is 4..

Yes , atomic mass is {almost} double the atomic number of the element,
For example atomic number of C is 6 and Atomic mass is 12.
Similarly for Oxygen atomic number is 8 and atomic mass is 16
For Chlorine atomic number is 17, and atomic mass is 35.5 .
