a. Sardinia and Piedmont are basically two different regions, Sardinia is an island in the Mediterranean sea and Piedmont is one of the regions in North part of Italy
b. The Kingdom of Sardinia in Southern Europe which existed in 1720 , included islands of Sardinia , and parts of North Italy Savoy , Piedmont and Genoa
c. It was also referred as Sardinia-Piedmont or Piedmont, it later became part or unified with Italy .
d. In the above mentioned map, the two pink portions highligted is part of Kingdom of Sardinia, whereby the Southern portion is Sardinia and the North portion includes other regions of North parts of Itlay.
