molecule should be electrically neutral but water has slight charge but still it is considered  as molecule ???

Dear Student,

Water molecule does not have any charge. Any particle will possess charge only when the number of protons are not equal to the number of electrons. In case of water, it is made up of Hydrogen and Oxygen atoms. The number of protons and electrons in Hydrogen (1e and 1p) and Oxygen (8p and 8e) are equal. Hydrogen and Oxygen atoms form covalent bond by sharing the electrons. Hydrogen is positively charged and Oxygen is negatively charged. Such a difference in charge makes water a polar molecule. The mathematical product of separation of the ends of both the poles and the magnitude of charges is called dipole moment. The dipole moment of water is 1.85D.
