Q.1 Short answer type questions
a. Why is a clear image formed in mirror but not in water ?
b. Is it possible for an object to form 2 or more shadows at the same time? Give examples.
c. Can you think of a shape that would give a circular shadow if held in one way and a rectangular shadow in another way?

a) Reflectivity of mirror surface is more than the water surface, so mirror surface creates more clear image.
b) Yes, if there are more than one light source, then one object can form more than one shadow. For example if you watch cricket that is being played in night, you can see that each person in field is creating more than one shadow in one time.
c) A cylinder can from both rectangular (when cylinder is facing the light by its curved surface) and circular (when the flat surface is facing the light) image.

  1. A CLEAR IMAGE CAN BE ONLY FORMED IN A MIRROR NOT IN WATER DUE WATER REFLECTION IS NOT BETTER THAN A REFLECTION WHICH WE GETS FROM MIRRORS.
