Q. When the N-pole of a bar magnet advances towards a stationary current carrying circular coil along its axis, its motion is damped. Explain why it is so?

when the N pole is moved towards the current carrying coil  it interacts with the magnetic field generated by the coil .this field oppose the motion of the coil as the induced magnetic field generate the induced current that slow down the magnet .this is lenzs  law  the energy of the magnet movement will loss in heat in the wire or consumed in some other form .Regards
