Qno2 Explain with help of symbolic duagram and truth table (2 input 3 the function of an inverter,Or gate,And gate,Nor gate,NAND gate and XOR gate.

Logic gates are useful in the construction of digital systems.

OR gate:

It gives a high output 1 if one or more of its inputs are high.  In this + is used to show the OR operation.

Truth table:

AND gate:

AND Gate gives a high output 1 only if all its inputs are high.  A dot (.) is used to show the AND operation.

NOR gate:

NOR Gate means NOT-OR gate i.e an OR gate followed by a NOT gate.  The outputs of all NOR gates are low if any of the inputs are high.

NAND Gate:

NAND Gate means NOT-AND gate i.e an AND gate followed by a NOT gate.  The outputs of all NAND gates are high if any of the inputs are low.

XOR Gate:(Exclusive OR)

XOR Gate gives high output if either, but not both, of its two inputs are high.

Truth table:

Inverter or NOT Gate:Inverter produces an inverted version of the input at its output. For example if the input is A, the inverted output is known as NOT A.  This is also shown as A with a bar over the top.
