Hi!

Some number can be obtained by multiplying two or more other numbers. The numbers that are multiplied together are called factors of the original number.
Example: 42 = 6 × 7, 42 = 2 × 21
Here, 6 and 7 are factors of 42, also, 2 and 21 are factors of 42.
In this way, all the factors of 42 can be listed as 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 14, 21 and 32
All the factors of 144 can be listed as 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 12, 16, 18, 24, 36, 48, 72, and 144.

A factor tree of a number is a graphical representation in the form of tree in such away it is decomposed into the product of all prime factors.
A factor tree can have as many branches as possible. The numbers that can be broken further into factors are encircled and those which cannot be broken down are not encircled. Stop finding further factors when you have to use 1 as a factor.
Factor tree of 42 can be constructed in the following manner.
42 = 2 × 21. So, write 2 in one branch and 21 in the other branch.
21 = 3 × 7. So, we write 3 in one branch and 7 in the other branch from 21.
3 = 3 × 1 and 7 = 7 × 1
Here, 1 is used as factor to represent 3 and 7. So, we stop factoring further.
Factor tree for 42 and 144 are shown below.

Mention the problem sums and do get back to us we will be happy to help you.

Cheers!
