Q2. An electric lamp, whose resistance is 20 Ω and a conductor of 4 Ω resistances are connected to a 6 V resistance of the circuit, (b) the current through the circuit, and (c) the potential difference across the electric lamp and the conductor.

Q4. An electric bulb rated 500 W at 100 V is used in a circuit having a 200 volt supply. What resistance R must be put in series with the bulbs so that bulb delivers 500 W?

Dear Student,
Let R is resistance of lectric bulb=V2W=1002500=20ohm  so current in circuit=VR=10020=5A let r is the requared resistance then  100+ir=200     r=100/i=100/5=20ohm
