Q75. Sodium hydroxide reacts with sulphuric acid to form the corresponding salt and water. Find the number of atoms in one molecule of the salt formed.

Dear Student

Sodium hydroxide reacts with sulphuric acid to form the corresponding salt and water.

Reaction: NaOH + H2SO4 ---> Na 2SO4 + H2O

Salt:   Na 2SO4  : Sodium sulphate
Number of atoms in   Na 2SO4 = 2 atoms of sodium (Na) + 1 atom of sulphur + 4 atoms of oxygen = 7 atoms

number of atoms in  Na2SO4 = 7
