what are badlands and how have rivers contributed to increase the badlands
Dear Student,
a. Bad land refers to that area of land which is considered to be unsuitable for cultivation
b. It is basically a dry terrain which has been severely eroded by water, wind
c. Excessive flow of water from, river, washes away the top soil leaving no sediment, thus, causing erosion
d. This in turn leads to the creation of bad land.
e. Further, bad lands are also caused by deposition. Rivers at times carry mineral, clay silts, and sand and depoist it on the top layers of the soil, making the piece of land unconducive for cultivation
