The Women's Suffrage Movement carried out several activities like demonstrations, public meetings and processions to press their demand of voting rights for women. Some activists even indulged in activities of a more extreme nature. For example, a prominent women suffragist, Emily Davison, committed suicide by jumping in front of the British King's horse in a horse race on June 4, 1913.
