What in simple words do ventral, dorsal, anterior and posterior mean? plzzz provide one or two images ...

Dear student,

Ventral is the portion which lies underside of the body. Example: chest abdomen, palm etc
Dorsal is the portion which lies upperside of the body or top side of the body which is exposed. Example: Back portion of  human body which includes vertebral column.
Anterior is the front portion of the body.
Posterior is the back portion of the body.

Ventral - on or relating to the underside of an animal or plant; abdominal.
Dorsal -  on or relating to the upper side or back of an animal, plant, or organ.
Anterior - nearer the front, especially in the front of the body, or nearer to the head or forepart.
Posterior - further back in position; of or nearer the rear or hind end.
