What is difference in share applicatiin money and share application money pending allotemwnt

Dear Student

Share application money - It is simply the amount of money received on application call by the company i.e total money paid by shareholders on the application.

Now in many cases company received more applications then it issues, The extra money received on these extra applications may be used by the company on the allotment, This extra money is called share application money pending allotment.
Or even if Company has received application money on certain shares but till the date of balance sheet, these applications are not allotted or are to be allotted later on then this amount is shown as share application money pending allotment.

Share application money is the maximum amount of money that is called in the application stage and is transferred to the  share capital and SHARE APPLICATION MONEY PENDING ALLOTMENT is the excess amount of  money which the company had received on application stage and according to the question specified if pro rata allotment is there then this excess money must be adjusted on the next stage i.e. on ALLOTMENT STAGE.
