A CLUMSY LOG MEANS A BROKEN PART OF TREE. A TYPE OF WOOD . WHICH IS VERY SHARP . AND POET THROW THE CLUMSY LOG ON THE SNAKE AS HE WAS AFRAID OF SNAKE AS HIS VOICE OF EDUCATION TELL HIM EARTH BROWN SNAKE ARE VERY POISONOUS .

A clumsy log means a broken part of the tree trunk or branch. In the poem the poet threw the clumsy log on the snake because he don't want the snake to go.
