what is the meaning of dividend, divisor,quoqient and remainder.

Dear Student!

Here is the answer to your query.

The number which is divided is called dividend.

The number by which the dividend is divided is called divisor.

The result obtained upon division is called quotient

and the number which is left over is called remainder.

Also Dividend = Divisor × Quotient + Reminder

Example : When 57 is divided by 4

Here 57 is the dividend, 4 is the divisor, 14 is the quotient and 1 is the reminder and

Dividend = 4 × 14 +1 = 56 + 1 = 57

Cheers!
