A triangular matrix is a special kind of square matrix where either all the entries below or all the entries above the main diagonal are zero.
These triangular matrices are of two types.
(i) Lower triangular matrix
(ii) Upper triangular matrix
An upper triangular matrix is a special kind of square matrix where all the entries below the main diagonal are zero. .An upper triangular matrix (U) of order n × n is of the following form

A lower triangular matrix is a special kind of square matrix where all the entries above the main diagonal are zero. A lower triangular matrix (L) of order n × n is of the following form
