WHY ARE FOSSIL FUELS OUR MOST IMPORTANT SOURCE OF ENERGY TODAY?

Coal, petroleum and natural gas are called fossil fuels which are formed naturally from dead remains of living organisms buried inside the earth several million years ago.

Fossil fuels are the most import sources of energy today. These fossil fuels have been in use since a long time (called conventional sources of energy). They are high source of energy which on burning gives us heat and light and are cost effective which have made them very much dependable sources of energy.

These fossil fuels are utilized for cooking, to run automobile engines, generate electricity. Most of our industries depend on these fossil fuels. Energy and technological development of the country is highly dependent on our fossil fuels. Hence due to our increasing need more and more of fossil fuels are utilized as source of energy and has become a part of our day to day work. In every field say, science technology, agriculture, food processing, storage, means of transport and to all our daily needs we need energy from fossil fuels. Even with our latest technological development we still do not have a widely used alternative source of energy, though of late we have nuclear and solar energy gaining popularity.
