The colonial government never tried to conserve resources because
  •        they made colonies to get resources  like wood for their own country
  •        they even did not conserve the forest of their own country
  •        colonies were their source of natural resources & raw materials
  •        it was only by exploiting the natural resources of the colonies that the industrial revolution in         Britain took place
