Why do you think the reformers started association to work against the oppressive caste system?

The reformers started an association to work against the oppressive caste system because social inequality was observed through this division of upper class and lower class. People who belong to higher castes were able to access all property where the lower caste people were unable to get the opportunity to have equal access. Hence, the reformers 19th and 20th centuries wanted to abolish the caste system. They raised voices to enable lower castes to access primary and secondary education. They believed that if everyone becomes educated, social status will be irrelevant, and hence social equality will be achieved.
