Mawsynram is the rainiest place in the world with an average annual rainfall of 1140 cm. it is located in the southern slopes of khasi hills (meghalaya) at a height 1800 above the se level. this place is enclosed by hills on three sides. the relief feature give this place a funnel shsped location location the bay of bengal branch of monsoons is traped in these in these hills these winds try to get out of it these are forced to rise again and again resulting in heavy rainfall.
