why the second ionisation enthalpy of zinc is more than that of chromium although cr(+) has more stable configuration than zn(+)

Dear student,
The stability factor of half filled configuration is considered only till the adjacent atoms. Zn has much more effective nuclear charge as compared to Cr atom which increases the ionisation energy of Zn.

Zn even has more stability because of full filled d subshell.

Hence it has more second ionisation energy as compared to Cr.

Hope it helps,
Regards
