Dear friend, Shiwalik range is a himalayan range which lies parallel to the duns(dehradun, patli dun, kotli dun)and the himachal range.it is the southernmost himalayan range in the longitudnal ranges. Chief characteristics are as under: (i) It is most prominent in the western half of the Himalayas. (ii) It is made of unconsolidated river deposits. (iii) It is prone to earthquakes and landslides.
