5 Reasons Why More CBSE students Crack IIT JEE

Every year, more than a lakh students clear the first level of JEE exams, also known as the JEE Main and become eligible for the JEE Advanced, the entrance examination that gives several students to be a part of the many premier institutions for engineering and architecture. Out of all the successful students, a big number of students belong to CBSE affiliated schools. So much so that it is wondered whether students of CBSE have an advantage or benefit when it comes to the IIT JEE exams. We considered a few possibilities that may be the reasons why students of CBSE schools are more in number, when it comes to clearing the IIT JEE exams.

1. The number of students appearing for CBSE class 12 Science exams is huge

Students usually appear for the JEE exams after they complete their class 12. The number of students appearing for CBSE class 12 Science Board exams is higher than any other board's science exam, hence the chances of a CBSE student qualifying gets higher.

2. CBSE students enjoy a geographical advantage too

A majority of schools in metros are CBSE affiliated. Also, the JEE exams are organised in metro on second tier cities, due to which, a lot of students from CBSE schools get an advantage. Students from other boards have to travel to their nearest centres for the exams, something that becomes a disadvantage.

3. The coaching facilities in bigger cities have a major part to play

The metros and tier two cities mentioned about in the previous point have a lot of coaching and training centres to offer. The students from these cities, a big number of them studying in CBSE schools, have better access to these institutions.

4. CBSE course syllabus lays a good foundation

The syllabus of the CBSE curriculum, in a way, is like a second foundation strengthening method to help CBSE students score better in the entrance exams. The syllabus is marginally similar, too, which adds to the advantage.

5. The course structure of CBSE curriculum is an added advantage

The CBSE course structure pays special attention to reasoning and analysing abilities. Therefore, students studying in the CBSE environment are at an advantageous situation, since they are used to the kind of questions or format that IIT JEE aspirants need to be well-versed in.
